What Have We Done?
A preface to a study of the Fourth Gospel
As I’d indicated in my last post, What’s Next?, I have been planning a series looking at the concept of “eternal life” as it appears in the Gospel of John. I was planning to start a draft today, with the intention of publishing a first reflection next Saturday, my usual day to send out blog posts.
And then this happened - American bombs fell on the capital of Venezuela, and their president taken into American custody. This from a nation that pretends to be “Christian.” I have no stomach, and no words, for how deeply disturbed and offended I am, as a follower of Jesus, that this is how my country is conducting its affairs.
So I defer to Rev. Tripp Hudgins, Pastoral Director of the community at Richmond Hill, and a wise and dedicated leader and writer. Please read his post from this morning, the 10th day of Christmas. It is what I would hope to be able to say.
Thank you, and God bless us all in these difficult times.

Thanks to both of you for the thoughtful comments. I'm sad, dismayed, ashamed and I don't know what else at this terrible moment. I hope enough of us can find enough courage to find the right way.
This is kind. Thank you.
